The mini spit has finally been completed after a year of preparation, design, and production!
We were tasked with creating a miniature spit roaster for Carlton and United Breweries (CUB) to utilise in an upcoming promotion at the beginning of this year. We knew the bar was set high because CUB is such a big company and is very particular about their branding. The mini spit had to be functional, stand up to the stringent quality assurance testing that we knew a company like CUB would expect, and be unique from other mini spits on the market.
It is no surprise that, after a great deal of effort, we were successful in delivering 400 mini spits to CUB in August. In the coming months, BWS stores will begin to carry all of these products, which are properly branded with their Carlton Mid strength trademark.
Tony Teboneras, our main designer, was tasked with creating a mini spit. Given who we were designing it for, we had to make sure functionality and quality were the top priorities. I am confident that this is the best mini spit on the Australian market. The mini spit needed to be small and portable so it could be taken camping. It also needed to be able to be used as either a spit roaster or a BBQ.
The mini spit works incredibly well at home by resting it on the ground or propping it up on a bench, but it’s also ideal to take camping, 4×4, or out for a family picnic. Despite it’s portability, it is large enough to cook 2 good-sized roasts, 3 birds or 10kgs of gyros.
Some of the mini spit features are:
- It only takes a few minutes to put together without any tools.
- Contains a cooking grill so you can barbecue food
- You can vary the height of the rotisserie to control how quickly or slowly your food cooks.
- uses 2 D batteries, each of which has a 20-hour minimum life (batteries included)
- The rotisserie motor can rotate 10 kg.
- Has 2 prongs to secure your meat.
- Everything is contained inside the fire box, making it portable and easy to carry around like a briefcase.
