How to Roast a whole Chicken on a Kettle Rotisserie

There aren’t many things in life that can compare to the wonderful taste and aroma of chicken gyros cooked over fire. We’ll show you how to make gyros on a kettle rotisserie, and your friends and family will be talking about it for weeks to come!

Ingredients: 

  1. 2 x whole chickens (medium)
  2. Butter
  3. Breadcrumbs
  4. Flaming Coals Clucking Mad BBQ Rub
  5. Flaming Coals Traditional Lamb BBQ Rub

Preparing the chickens: 

  1. To remove any extra moisture, pat the chickens dry with a paper towel.

2. Use Flaming Coals Clucking Mad BBQ rub to season the chickens, make sure to coat them completely for the best results.

3. Fill the chicken with a mixture of breadcrumbs, traditional lamb rub, and clucking mad.

4. Use the prong to secure the first piece of chicken onto the skewer. To make sure the skewer spins evenly, flip it over and place the second chicken in the opposite direction.

Cooking gyro: 

  1. Light a chimney of Flaming Coal Lump Charcoal and pour into the base of your Kettle BBQ.

2. Make sure the chickens are properly balanced before putting the skewer into the kettle rotisserie ring and turning on the motor.

3. To prevent overcooking the food, keep an eye on the heat and adjust the amount of charcoal being used.

4. Once the internal temperature reaches 75 degrees celsius remove the skewer, take off the chickens and serve immediately.
