Recommended Spit Roast Accessories

Prongs– For a roast, you’ll need 2 to make sure the meat is firmly fastened. Whole animals are fastened with large prongs, whereas roasts and chickens are fastened with smaller chicken prongs.

Souvlaki gyros disks– 2 discs are required to mash the meat from both sides.

Back brace – One of these is required to fasten the spine to the rotisserie skewer while cooking an entire animal.

Counter Balance Weight– Highly recommend if cooking a full animal to guarantee even rotation. If your animal isn’t balanced, the motor will not turn the flesh evenly and you may strip the motor gears.

Heat Proof Gloves – highly advised to achieve even rotation when cooking an entire animal. If you shield your hands and forearms from the flames, you’ll never again burn yourself.

Cooking Thermometer – Check the interior temperature of the meat to ensure that your roasts are cooked to perfection. For each form of meat, a specific internal temperature is required before it can be regarded as safe for ingestion. Avoid cooking your meal too quickly. The inside need not be cooked just because the outside appears to be.
